Can't seem to find my motivation...

Well I've been in school for over a week now...and it feels like an extension of last semester...I ended up dropping a class so i'm back to a very manageable 16 credits...but I still don't seem to want to do much of anything. Our car is still doing great, we still have to switch over the title and figure out insurance, but we found out we got it for half of its bluebook value, and what's more, we LOVE the car...and I have driven it a few times successfully, I just have to practice driving the stick, every time I drive the car I freak out and think I am going to crash into every car on the road...so I guess I have to get over that fear haha.
It was so great to have Sarah, my sweet Mother-in-law, stay with us for a while. She took me and Mariah out for manicures and shopping so much, she is so great! We were sad to see her go home.
We have had a lot of fun though! Saturday me, Jared, and Ethan headed down to Logan because they were playing a lacrosse game down there. Here are a few pictures from that.

The boys start up lacrosse here this weekend, and it looks like Jared is going to coach and I will be the assistant coach and I'm so excited! Also, we might be playing frisbee again this semester, I sure hope so because that is one sport I feel like I am adequate at, and I love it!
Sunday, wonderful Easter! I decided to go all out and make a huge dinner for everyone. On the menu was ham, potato casserole, broccoli casserole, rolls, deviled eggs, and for dessert I made everyone an individual molten lava cake. I do have to say I was quite proud, and I've never cooked for so long in my life, and I loved doing it! I was so nice to have everyone over and to play games. I love having family here and being there for them, and taking care of everyone! I didn't get any pictures which I was bummed about, but I guess that's good, everyone liked the food so much it was gone right away!
My classes are going well, though I have a problem called I wish I didn't have to work at anything, and I wish I was instantly good at things, so cake decorating is kind of stressing me out, I just have to practice and practice. Also, my culinary nutrition class is awesome...we made the most delicious chicken ever, and I'm learning so much about adding nutrients to what I cook.
Well other news, we found an AWESOME surround sound system for super cheap on the byui bulletin board, and Jared went and got it, and came home with 2 presents for me, the movies Up, and Enchanted (he handed me Enchanted and said "I just want to reiterate that this is for YOU and in no way is connected to me" hehe). Isn't he great!
Only about 13 weeks left of this semester....I guess I will find a way to glide through...

What a great few weeks!

Well finally the winter semester is done! I finished strong, and maintained my 3.45 gpa (woo hoo!!) School ended last Friday, then I spent alllll day cleaning our apartment so it could be nice for the family coming out the next week, then Sunday we drove down to salt lake and flew to Austin to get our car! We got in late, and left early, but it was so nice seeing my aunt and uncle, they are so awesome! So the Altima didn't work out, but I think it is a total blessing, because we got a great 2009 pontiac vibe with 20,000 miles on it, AND it was 2 grand cheaper! (which is always a wonderful thing...) The only downside is that it is a standard...and although I have been taught how to drive a stick many times, I still have yet to get it down, so I guess I just have to practice and practice, but it is still such a cool car!

So we left Austin on Monday morning and drove to Amarillo. We ate at a place called Rudy's, which my aunt said was some of the best bbq in Texas...well two days later we saw one in Pueblo, CO...so i guess it's some of the best bbq in the U.S. haha. Anyway Texas was so warm, it was so nice having the windows rolled down and not wearing jackets. We got into Amarillo late and stayed at the ever luxurious Super 8. The next day we got up and made our way to good old Colorado, where we got in at like 3. My family was gone though...in Cancun without us!!! (they had a great time by the way, and they are sooo tan, I am so jealous!) So we spent the night at my parents house then got up Wednesday (at 4:30 in the morning) and  headed to Rexburg. After we got in, about 4 hours later Sarah, Ethan, and Mariah got in, and it was so great to see them! I'm so glad they were able to stay with us and hang out. It was great meeting my brother in law, and I am excited to get to know him better. I'm also so glad I will have Mariah in Rexburg to hang out with! Friday I got to spend the day with them while Jared worked, and I had so much fun shopping and talking. So they are moved in, and Sarah is still at our apartment and Jared is there, but for the weekend my mom flew me out to Colorado (yes, twice in one week!) to suprise my dad because today he graduated from college!
I got in yesterday morning and just got to hang out (and take a 3 hour nap...this week has been exhausting!) then last night we had a big party for my dad, and a ton of people showed up. I love seeing anyone, but I still feel so much more comfortable hanging out with my siblings and the other "kids", even though I'm an old married woman haha. Here is the cake I spent forever making for it!

Then the graduation was today, and it was great. I am so proud of my dad!! I head back to Rexburg tomorrow afternoon, and start my new semester on Tuesday...yeah quite the break I know! Here are the pictures from today!

4...3...2...1...

That's right folks, 4 days left of this semester. I had two finals Friday, two finals yesterday, a final this morning, a final Friday morning, and two finals due on Saturday. Yes it is such a fabulous week, and yet somehow when it's over...I will definitely survive. One bright spot though, was that I got to do my course evaluations yesterday, which meant ripping some courses and instructors to shreds. Oh sweet revenge...
Then Sunday we fly down to Texas to bring home a car...though it may not be our Altima we have been wanting, we may come home with a 2009 Pontiac Vibe...which looks like this...though ours would be navy blue...

I think it's actually a pretty cool car, and heck, I could really care less as long as I can get our groceries home.
Other big news of the week, I've had a small makeover! My sad sad bleached hair was falling apart more quickly than I could fix it so it got chopped and dyed to my natural color. Jared hated it at first, because he doesn't like short hair, but it's grown on him, as long as I promise that when my hair is healthy again I bleach it back haha. sorry I look semi creepy in this picture, but you get the idea...

Oh and wonderful conference was this past weekend! I was so proud I watched every session, and it was amazing. By far though, my favorite talk was by the wonderful Richard G. Scott in talking about marriage. Did you know his wife died almost 20 years ago and he has never remarried? He is just waiting to die to see her again. I balled through the whole talk, and really thought it was absolutely beautiful. I love conference!

Last night we discovered our new favorite place in Rexburg. Formerly Pita Pit (which got old fast), now has transformed into the College Avenue Deli, and it is DELICIOUS!!!
Not too expensive, great food, so many options, and they don't screw you over when it comes to putting stuff on your sandwich, wrap, or pita. It is so cool, you go in and they have a ton of menus hanging, and you take a vis-a-vis (uh...spelling?) marker and mark exactly what you want, then give it to the cashier. It is awesome! So after my wrap and Jared's HUGE sandwich, we decided to splurge (in money and in cholesterol) and got their fried cheesecake with strawberry topping. Well....I died and went to heaven. So anyway if you are kicking around Rexburg and you are sick of all the crappy food everywhere like we are, hit up the College Avenue Deli, you might see us there because we are officially obsessed.
Speaking of awesome food check out my Culinary Fundamentals Practical final picture, me and 3 other people were given a list of foods that we had to use to create a masterpiece. Here is our steak, asparagus, fetuccini and turnip dish. Oh man it was amazing. I am so proud!
Lastly, I have been doing flowers like CRAZY because since the show we have had so many left overs, so I've had my apartment covered in designs. Here is one I made today...it got a little smashed walking through the almost-hurricane outside, but I still love it, it has Calla lilies, lilies, daisies, and gladiolas all in a nice robin blue and coral
